A forum discussion could be stimulated by posing a question that is easy to understand or start with an opening statement that is relevant and one which learners can relate with. A facilitator should also give clear instructions at the beginning, for instance inform learners that they are expected to reply or comment at least three times. This strategy will encourage learners to read each other's posts and actively engage in the forum.
