Topic outline

  • Unit 03: Approaches to ICT Pedagogy Integration

  • Unit Introduction

Today’s learners use a variety of technologies to access knowledge resources and interact globally with people. These interactions create a digital society that affords learners opportunities for education, entertainment and social interaction. Consequently, teachers should consider harnessing this know-how to create learning experiences that advance the curriculum objectives and respond to the directives of the national policy studied in Unit 1.

In this unit we will evaluate pedagogical approaches to using ICT in such a way that it supports the attainment of curriculum objectives.

By the end of this unit you should be able to:

  • Assessment

Develop a lesson plan using one of the three approaches introduced in this unit.

    1. Select a section of the syllabus that lends itself to ICT and then using any of the above approaches create a lesson plan.
    2. State explicitly which pedagogical approach you have decided to use.
    3. Ideally it should be about two pages long and clearly demonstrate how one of the approaches was used to demonstrate the integration of both pedagaogy and ICT.
    4. Use this assignment upload tool to submit a digital lesson plan (it can be either in a word processor or presentation package).
