  • Unit 46: Google Classroom


    • Unit Introduction

      Google Classroom is a blended learning platform and learner management system (LMS) for teachers. Using a Google account, Google Docs and Google Drive, it simplifies e-learning, and allows paperless assignment submission and marking.

      In this unit, you will learn how to set up a Google Classroom, and how it can save you time, and help you communicate and collaborate with learners and other teachers.

      By the end of this unit you should be able to: 


      Note: You will need to set up a G Suite for Education account at your school to use all the functions. This is free. Speak to your IT administrator about this.

    • Assessment instructions


      1. Log into the class you created while working through the lesson.
      2. Add a topic related to what you are currently teaching.
      3. Create a multiple choice question about how learners prefer to learn.
      4. Schedule an assignment for tomorrow that includes:
        - a file from Google Drive. Make a copy so that each learner can edit the file
        - a relevant video from Youtube
        - a link with information learners will need
      5. Add a topic called Resources. Start adding resources that you think your learners will find useful.
      6. Find the code for the class you created by looking under the "Students" tab. You will be asked to submit this code a evidence of learning
