      Assessment is an essential process that provides information about what learners know and can do. In this unit you will learn about suitable summative and formative assessment strategies.

        1. Review the Curriculum and Assessment Policy Statement (CAPS) for your subject area and grade.
        2. Select a suitable topic within your subject area and grade.
        3. Consider the ‘Suggested Activities: Investigations, practical work, and demonstrations’ for the topic.
        4. Create a suitable ICT-based assessment that will help recognize where your learners are struggling and address problems they may be experiencing.
        5. Ensure that the ICT-based assessment:
        • Indicates which subject area, grade and topic are to be assessed;
        • Makes use of an appropriate ICT-based tool/s; and
        • Aligns with the requirements for the Curriculum Assessment Policy Statement (CAPS) requirements for your subject area, grade and the topic selected.
