Course Managers Online Course Checklist
Below is a draft course manager's online course organization checklist:
Pre-course responsibilities
- Alert MG Online administrator of course dates.
- Review online course materials and determine if the course needs revision (e.g. new content, clear previous enrolments, reset forums, quizzes and other tools.)
- Engage the services of an online facilitator and orientate that person to the MG Online mode of deliver\
- Alert administrator if you will require additional personnel to offer online support over and above the course facilitator(For really large groups)
- Ensure you have booked out any synchronous sessions on the institutional account to avoid clashes and overlaps with other courses
- Set up social media channel (e.g. WhatsApp groups)
- Advertise to potential audience
- Collect registration details and submit to MG Online administrator to ensure MG Online accounts are created and individuals enrolled into the course.
During course responsibilities
- Monitor facilitator is responsible and competent
- Monitor students' technical and academic needs are being met by facilitator and MG Online administrator
- Ensure pre-tests have been completed by all participants
- Track student progress and chase up students at risk
- Ensure post-tests have been completed by all participants
Post-course responsibilities
- Collect pre and post test data and analyze
- Collect Moodle statistics on participant participation
- Compile training report in conjunction with facilitator
- Submit reports to management
- Ask administrator to reset the course for next cohort.
